Trama
Sean Archer (John Travolta) è un agente dell'FBI sulle tracce di Castor Troy (Nicolas Cage), un terrorista paranoico che anni prima gli ha ucciso il figlio. Quando finalmente Archer riesce a catturare Castor, costui cade in coma in un incidente: la circostanza permette a Sean, grazie ad un rivoluzionario intervento chirurgico, di prenderne le sembianze allo scopo di trovare la bomba batteriologica che il criminale ha nascosto in un luogo segreto. Ma proprio durante la "missione" Castor si risveglia dal coma ed assume a sua volta le sembianze di Sean.
